This car was named for it's manufacturer: Ransom E. Olds (note initials). So it is the brother of the classic Oldsmobile. It has one surprising booster that I am aware of: in THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MALCOLM X, Malcolm mentions an occasion as a boy being driven in a Reo, and then asks, nostalgically, "Do you remember the Reo?".
